This Privacy Policy explains how Interview Academy AI (“Interview Academy AI”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use Interview Academy AI (the “Service”). We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service well and to be transparent about it.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details — your name, email address, and/or phone number, and authentication data when you sign up or sign in (including via Google sign-in, if you choose it).
• Content you submit — practice answers, uploaded files (such as scanned answer sheets or PDFs), and your study activity and preferences.
• Support communications — messages you send us.

Information we collect automatically

• Usage data — pages and features you use, test attempts, scores, streaks, and similar product analytics.
• Device & log data — IP address, browser/device type, and timestamps, used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
• Cookies and similar technologies — see “Cookies” below.

Payment information

When you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal. We do not collect or store your full card or bank-account details — the payment processor handles them directly under its own privacy policy. We receive limited information such as your subscription status, plan, and a processor reference identifier so we can provision your access.

2. How we use your information

• provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• create and secure your account, and authenticate you (including one-time passcodes);
• evaluate your answer-writing and personalize your study experience, including spaced-repetition scheduling and analytics;
• process subscriptions, billing, and entitlements;
• communicate with you about the Service, updates, and support requests;
• detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
• comply with legal obligations.

3. AI processing

To generate study material and to evaluate your answers, we send the relevant content (such as your submitted answer text or uploaded pages) to our AI provider, Anthropic, for processing. We send only what is needed for the feature you requested. We do not sell your content, and we ask our AI provider not to use your content to train its models beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who help us run the Service — for example Stripe and PayPal (payments), Anthropic (AI), and our hosting, storage, email/SMS, and error-monitoring providers — under contracts that protect your data;
• Authorities, when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service;
• A successor, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

5. International transfers

We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than where you live. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with applicable data-protection laws.

6. Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for a reasonable period to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your account (see your rights below).

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to sign you in and keep your session secure, and to understand and improve how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break parts of the Service.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures — such as encryption in transit, access controls, and scoped credentials — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to incidents.

10. Children

The Service is intended for users who can lawfully consent to the processing of their data in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age of consent without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date, and we will provide additional notice for material changes where required.
